Ways we support each other

Jen's Cancer Journey

PRO K-9 owner Jen Guthrie was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer in February 2022.

Jen spent the last year working with an amazing team of doctors as she battled through chemotherapy, radiation and two surgeries. Now cancer free, she is eagerly but slowly getting back to work and training in 2023! We couldn't have made it through this last year without the support of so many amazing people. Due to medical bills and Jen being unable to work, we are keeping our GoFundMe active to help as we play catch up. We also remain focused on our growth goals of providing a special space and more services for our valued clients and dogs in need.

Rescue Community

Rescue rates

Our roots are in rescue, and we have a houseful of our own! We offer discounted rates for dogs within the legal care (pre-adoption) of local registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue organizations for training, evaluations, home introductions and foster home education. We also add a bonus 'Adoption Session' to our in-home programs to help transition adopted dogs to their forever homes.

Donation collections

We work closely with The Buster Foundation, a local non-profit rescue focused on pit bull type and bully breed dogs. You can help support their mission by donating, fostering, volunteering, adopting and more! We actively collect new and used supplies to donate: crates, bowls, collars, leashes, toys, food, blankets and more! Contact us to donate. Buster on Facebook

Finishing "the acres"

Help us build acres of fun for EVERY dog.

We’re transforming our nearby private 10-acre property into a safe space for socially selective dogs, dogs in homes without backyards, or any dog whose owner is looking for a safer alternative for their canine companion to exercise. Our goal is to provide clients more opportunities to continue improving their dog’s social confidence at an appropriate pace.

We’re about half-way there! We've improved the pole barn to be used three seasons, built a fully-fenced pond with a beach, cut trails through the woods, and added a camper and some other grounds improvements. In the next few years, our goal is to fence another large yard and refinish agility equipment for it, build a dock for dock diving in the pond, finish the pole barn for year-round use, cut more trails in the woods, repair work on some equipment and the camper, and other small improvements around the property.

We’re grateful for all the help we’ve received getting to this point and are ready to get it finished. We could use assistance with labor or financial contributions, or skilled trades such as electrical, mechanical repair, light construction work and spray foam, land clearing and more.
